Randstad Student & Worker Support are looking for reliable and committed Study Assistants to work with Students at the for Creative Arts - Epsom Campus with a view to start in September
Working as a study assistant you will be providing an essential 1-1 service to students who due to their disability cannot support themselves. You will attend various lectures and seminars and take accurate notes for students as well as providing practical and motivational support in other areas

Responsibilities:
Providing Study Assistant support to students suffering from disabilities/mental health conditions your responsibilities will include:
Producing accurate and legible handwritten notes for lectures, seminars/tutorials and group tasks
To maintain a professional role as a support worker and be aware of the need to maintain this professional relationship with the student at all times
To act in the best interests of learners at all times whilst also working within the policies and procedures of the institution
Providing practical support, this may be in the library, laboratory or workshop/studio etc. As well as mobility support to assist a student with a physical impairment in manoeuvring around the campus
Reading aloud
Scribing
Text checking (pointing out errors but not providing corrections)
You will work closely with Randstad regarding the needs of individual students, ensuring that any concerns are addressed in a timely manner. You will be expected to act professionally and maintain confidentiality within your role at all times, sharing all relevant information with Randstad to ensure the best possible service to your students.
Requirements:
Punctuality and reliability
Good listening and communication skills
Ideal candidate will be compassionate and committed to helping others
Have neat handwriting - able to produce notes in a legible and presentable manner
You will need to be able to work quickly and under time restrictions
Ideally you will have experience in working with people who have a specific learning difficulty
Experience in a support worker background
A background in art studies is desirable, but not essential
