Product Manager - Mortgage

A leader within their industry are looking for an experienced Mortgage Product Manger to join their company.

The purpose of the role:

The Product Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining a competitive range of BTL & Residential products that deliver sales and financial goals.

Responsibilities:

• Manage product range in terms of analysing criteria and interest rates
• Provide detailed analysis of the mortgage market
• Maintain a thorough and regular review of the competitor landscape
• Analyse key management information, in particular sales data and product performance information
• Provide regular performance reports to key stakeholders
• Be involved in launching new products and criteria to the marketplace and provide analysis on performance of these products and product ranges
• Actively look for new ways to broaden then existing product propositions and be responsible for new product development initiatives

Key Accountabilities:

• Maintain a disciplined approach to product development
• Deliver key management information including product performance, competitor and market analysis and broker segmentation analysis
• Management and resolution of product issues
• Work with other departments to create and launch new product initiatives and enhance the existing range to improve the overall customer proposition and experience
• Responsible for providing analysis and insight to support business cases for new product propositions
• Work with relevant parties to determine optimum pricing to meet corporate goals
• Adhere to the expected governance guidelines associated with the role

Essential Competencies:

• Extensive experience in product management for mortgage lender preferably in the specialist mortgage sector of the market
• Regulatory knowledge
• An excellent understanding of mortgages and the financial services market
• Excellent understanding of the intermediary channel
• Experience in developing new mortgage products, including previous experience of designing products with capital markets in mind
• Problem solving abilities
• Ability to analyse Management Information and offer solutions
• Builds relationships with internal stakeholders
• Strong communication skills.
• Able to demonstrate that they are pro- active, hardworking, flexible and able to work under their own initiative but also as a team player.
• Highly developed verbal and written communications skills.
• Excellent understanding of Regulatory Principles & environment.
• Strategic influencing, negotiating & decision making.
• Track record of delivery.

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

• Job holder must have an excellent understanding of the mortgage market
• Awareness of the changes and development in regulation and legislation and the impact these have on the business
• An understanding of financial intermediaries
