The salary for this apprenticeship is?GBP15,158 per annum based on a 36?hour working week.

This Apprenticeship scheme is a fantastic opportunity to gain both experience and training. Your day to day work will see you gain the skills needed for a professional role that will make a difference to our residents in Surrey.

Your apprenticeship will see you complete an 18-month fixed term contract that will be a healthy combination of both on the job experience building and completing your qualification. You'll be supported and mentored throughout by your line manager and assessor who will each give you dedicated time to complete your work and qualification. All of that will certainly keep you busy and we therefore commit to 26 days of paid annual leave per annum as well as a range of other benefits you'll have access to.

Working closely with the Children's Finance team, you will be involved in a range of tasks including extracting data from IT systems to manipulate and analyse, updating workbooks that are integral to monthly financial monitoring, producing graphs and other analytical data and other ad-hoc work to benefit the service.

This is a varied role and you will have the opportunity to put forward ideas to improve the way we present information within the team, whilst we will provide you with all the knowledge and training you require to be successful. The work you do will reinforce your learning and provide evidence-based experiences to support your qualification.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and self-motivated apprentice to join our Finance team. You don't have to be a school leaver or a young person to start an apprenticeship!

To be shortlisted for interview for this position, your CV and personal statement should clearly evidence:

  • GCSE maths grade 9-4 or equivalent, GCSE English grade 9-4 or equivalent or ability to work towards Functional Skills level 2 in English
  • Basic IT skills: Ability to use information, communication and office equipment
  • Ability to follow instructions and guides and maintain good levels of accuracy in your work
  • Commitment and willingness to learn

The administrative base for this position is at Woodhatch Place in Reigate but Surrey County Council has a number of offices across the county to support agile working.
