At present, we are investing c£25 million in a new Technology & Engineering facility at our Stafford site and also a further c£20 million at our Newcastle site in a combined project to become an Institute of Technology & Engineering Centre in association with Keele University.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified individual to teach on a range of full-time, part-time and HE programmes in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering with specific specialisms in Electrical Engineering and Electronics to Level 5. The department also delivers specialist short courses to industry.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To deliver lively and interactive teaching, learning and assessment to an outstanding standard on a range of programmes as appropriate.

  • To secure outstanding success for all learners and ensure targets for recruitment, retention, achievement and success, attendance and progression are met.

  • Engage in core duties including preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking of examination papers, developing and preparing flexible learning materials.

  • To act as a personal tutor or course tutor to a group of students and undertake the duties associated with this pastoral.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Has a degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and equivalent higher technical expertise in this field.

  • Has or is willing to study for a relevant teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent).

  • Has industry experience, with current knowledge and the ability to deliver to industry standard.

  • Experience of delivering dynamic and interactive remote learning via online platforms such as MS Teams and Zoom.

  • Is well organised and able to manage the peaks and troughs of a varied workload.
