Eastfield House Huntingdon. Monday to Friday, circa 6am to 2pm daily
We are seeking a refuse and recycling driver and loader to drive collection vehicles and carry out loader duties when required.
When working as a Refuse / Recycling Driver you will lead the daily delivery of a collection round including:
driving a collection vehicle, (carrying out daily maintenance checks and being the responsible person for the vehicle)
direction of the team working on the collection round
resolving issues and problems to ensure service delivery on the round and
reporting relevant issues to the relevant Waste Manager.
You will be responsible for the usage of the in-cab data system recording events/issues and ensuring the allocated round is completed.
When acting as a Refuse / Recycling loader, you will:
work to load waste onto the collection vehicle in accordance with safe working practices
collect all forms of household waste
work as part of a crew and be polite, helpful and comfortable working outside in all weathers and able to lift heavy loads as part of your daily duties.
We are seeking someone who can make decisions on what waste can and cannot be removed, undertake risk assessments when working with the driver, be aware of health and safety in relation to manual handling and have good communication skills, both with your crew and the general public.
You will need to be able to follow instructions, always conduct yourself in a professional manner and work in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines. We will provide all PPE required.
