We are Barfoots of Botley. Growing is in our nature. Over 40 years ago, we started life as a small family farm with a handful of people and a modest range of crops. We are still a family-owned business but now we grow, process and pack a range of semi-exotic vegetables at farms and facilities around the world.

The Role:
We are looking for reliable, hard-working individuals, who can thrive working in a busy, team driven environment. Working across various sections within our factories, our skilled/experienced Operatives are a real attribute to our business, contributing to the successful, day to day production operations.
You will be working in a fast-moving, fresh produce production environment and in temperature-controlled conditions - usual temperatures are around 3??? - 5???. You will be standing on your feet for long periods of time and be tasked with occasional heavy lifting responsibilities. You will receive full training, including the Food Safety Level 2, and in-house training to include allergen control, manual handling and COSHH.
Typical duties will include, but will not be limited to:
* Day to day operating and monitoring of production line machinery
* Setting up, running and adjusting machinery to product specifications
* Handling machine changeovers for product changes
* Ensuring all products meet quality standards
* Completing and maintaining accurate production records
* Ensuring all cleaning procedures are carried out correctly
* Making sure that H&S standards are adhered to within your area and raising any health and safety concerns to your Cell Leader
* Effectively championing environmental, people and technical standards within your area
* Assisting with Operator and agency support supervision where applicable
The Hours:
The vacancies we have are for full time, permanent positions with a fixed 12-hour shift pattern.
Day Shifts: Our factory day shift hours are either 6am to 6pm or 7am to 7pm, 4 days on/4 days off
Night Shifts: Our factory night shift hours are 6pm to 6am; this involves working 4 nights on/3 nights off (Monday to Thursday), from April to October, and 3 nights on/4 nights off, (Tuesday to Thursday) from October to April
You will receive 3 breaks during every shift & we have tea, coffee and food-making facilities on site, as well as various snack food machines.
Our Location:
Our factories are based in Runcton and Pagham. We are easily accessible by car and by local public transport from Chichester, Bognor Regis and other surrounding areas. We do also have a Stagecoach bus service which we run from various locations in Portsmouth, Bersted, and Littlehampton. We can provide you with more information on this service during the application process.
Requirements
We would be really keen to speak to you if you have previous factory/production experience from Fresh Produce or any food-related industry. We would also be really keen to hear from people who have worked in FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) or any factory/production organisation.
We also require individuals with the following skills and expertise:
* Good communication skills - English Level 2/English Level 3
* Great attention to detail
* Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
* Basic numeracy and literacy skills
* A 'can do' and flexible attitude
* A strong team player with a positive mindset!
