Currently Leeds City Council are recruiting for a Team Leader - Planned and Refurbished PAYE pay rate of GBP15.36.

Job Purpose & Context:

Responsible for managing the day to day operation of construction projects, sites and operatives, taking overall responsibility for tenant and client satisfaction and involvement. Responsible for the management of Health & Safety on site.

Accountabilities:

  • Take ownership of all aspects of construction projects including operational management and supervision, budgeting, cost control and client liaison
  • Refurbishment / Capital works and ad-hoc client project works (GBP5K to GBP500K)
  • Monitor work quality and technical competence of operatives including contactors
  • Keeping accurate and up to date records using the systems, processes and tools provided
  • Monitor processes and procedures to ensure compliance, particularly in relation to Health and Safety, whilst ensuring that target completion dates are met and value for money is achieved
  • Apply Council Values and abide by all relevant policies and procedures in particular those relating to Equality, Safeguarding and Health and Safety

Skills, knowledge & experience:

  • Operating in a Social Housing repair and maintenance contracting environment
  • Managing operational construction staff, including contractors, setting targets for timescales and quality, and addressing issues promptly and constructively when these are not met
  • Assessing and managing risk to self and others in construction environments
  • Liaising directly with clients / tenants to ensure their safety and satisfaction within the available resources
  • Budgeting and cost monitoring of construction projects
  • Knowledge of void, small projects and maintenance contracts

Qualifications & training

  • Full, current, UK driving license
  • SMSTS,
  • Asbestos awareness
  • NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate
  • Working at Heights
