At NE6 we specialise in digital product design and development. With specialist experience in React.js technology as well as bespoke WordPress development.

From our roots in the Ouseburn via a pre pandemic stint in Jesmond, NE6 have relocated to Newcastle city centre to further enhance our ability to service our clients and attract great talent as we expand.

We are temporarily based in Broadacre House off Carliol Square while we complete the design of our new studio on Grey St, which is sure to provide the very best working environment for everyone.

We are looking to expand our team, and have the following full time job position available:

PHP Developer

We are looking to hire a talented PHP Developer to manage our back-end services and ensure a seamless interchange of data between the server and our users. As a PHP Developer, you will be responsible for developing and coding server-side logic. You will also be required to maintain databases and respond to requests from front-end developers.

To ensure success as a PHP Developer, you should have in-depth knowledge of object-oriented PHP programming, understanding of MVC designs, and working knowledge of front-end technologies including HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3. Ultimately, a top-level PHP Developer can design and build efficient PHP modules while seamlessly integrating front-end technologies.

Requirements

Conducting analysis of website and application requirements.
Writing back-end code and building efficient PHP modules.
Developing back-end portals with an optimised database.
Troubleshooting application and code issues.
Integrating data storage solutions.
Responding to integration requests from front-end developers.
Finalising back-end features and testing web applications.
Updating and altering application features to enhance performance.Benefits

Knowledge of PHP web frameworks such as Laravel.
Knowledge of front-end technologies including CSS3, JavaScript, and HTML5.
Understanding of object-oriented PHP programming.
Knowledge of the RESTful API lifecycle and best practices to ensure secure and efficient back-end services.
Previous experience creating scalable applications.
Proficient with code versioning tools such as Git.
Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases.
Ability to project manage.
Good problem-solving skills.
A genuine interest and passion for backend development, with a view to always improving and furthering your own skillset and knowledge.Holidays / Public Holidays
