Seven Education are looking 2 x SEN Teaching Assistant to work within an established Specialist School based in Meldreth, Royston. This position is a temporary contract required until end of academic year.

The role:

The purpose of the Teaching Assistant is to support the Class Teacher with all elements of the day to day running of the class and to teach whole classes, groups and individual lessons in consultation with the Class Teacher on a regular basis across a range of classes. Experience of working with non-verbal ASD/ PMLD students and have experience of behaviours that challenge is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Pupil Welfare and Safeguarding
Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils according to the school's policies including safeguarding and PREVENT.
Provide meaningful feedback on pupil behaviour, relationships, and attitudes.
Monitor pupils conduct and behaviour throughout the learning process and intervene to resolve highly complex, difficult, or very challenging issues and keep records of incidents, health, and behaviour etc. as necessary.
Ensure a high standard of personal care for the pupils, carefully monitoring the health and well-being of the pupils informing the care staff, medical staff and any other relevant professionals of any concerns.
Experience in working with non-verbal ASD/PMLD students and challenging behaviours.
Promote and encourage independence and personal development in pupils and maintain high expectations of behaviour at all times.
Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications: Teaching Assistant qualification and SEN is essential. Safeguarding training.
Experience: 2+ year of experience working as a TA.
Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS check.
Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
Hours: 35 hours p/w - 08:30-16:00.
Pay: GBP65 per day paid via an Umbrella company.
