General Operative
Contract (minimum 6 months)
As a General Operative, do you enjoy moving around a site, getting involved in a variety of interesting and dynamic tasks that all contribute to the effective running of the plant?
We have an unmissable opportunity for a General Operative to enhance their career and skill-base by working for a global leader renowned for their innovation and operational excellence. The role is anything but boring??? it could be just what you need!
You'll be:
* Operating automated packaging
* Operating machinery and equipment
* Assisting in positional/machine fault finding
* Inspecting product against required standards
* Assisting with pack changes/pack wipes and pack stripping
* Stringing up/cleaning positions
* Ensuring relevant data is captured in the RTR computer system
* Conducting housekeeping as required to maintain a clean and tidy workplace
* Reporting to Site Manager and Team Leader
* Working 12-hour shifts: 2 x 12-hour days, then 2 x 12-hour nights, then 4 days off
You must have:
* Good level of physical fitness
* Manual dexterity
* An excellent attitude to safety
* Ability to identify improvements and troubleshoot
* Ability to work in a team environment and under pressure
* General knowledge of a packing system
* Understanding of product, workflow and grading requirements
* Knowledge of site permit to work system
You'll be at an advantage if you have:
* A forklift truck licence
