A local NHS Trust is looking for a HR manager to support the People and Organisational Development Strategy (POD) Business Partner in the delivery of the aims and objectives of the POD strategy. The successful candidate will work with senior management to provide business focused HR solutions to support the development and application of high quality, productive, and innovative services across the Trust.

As a HR Manager you will provide an effective and professional HR service to Care Groups and Clinical Support services. You will give managers advice and information to managers on a range of HR issues.

Key Requirements:

  • Support managers by interpreting and advising on policies, procedures and employment law and advising on the best course of action. This will include a range of employment and employee relation matters such as absence, performance management, grievance, disciplinary, reorganisations and TUPE. The post holder will be responsible for assisting management or external investigators in conducting timely investigations and providing hearing panel support as required.
  • To assist the PODBP in providing support across the allocated Care Groups/Clinical Support Services to promote, develop and sustain strong service delivery.
  • Build and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Provide and receive complex, sensitive, or contentious information to a range of audiences.
  • Support the job evaluation system and provide advice to staff and managers on job design as well as undertake job evaluation assessments, providing feedback and advice to managers.
  • Plan, review and implement changes to policies and procedures and support implementation by delivering policy briefings and 1:1 coaching with managers across the Trust.
  • Work closely with the wider People Services team providing advice and guidance to customers on workforce issue to promote a climate of good practice.
  • Work closely with staff side colleagues to support and provide partnership working.
  • Takes the 'lead expert' role in an agreed aspect of HR work to develop expertise over time, acting as a resource for colleagues.
  • Facilitate the development of HR skills and capacity in managers by advising and providing information on employment law matters and best practice including the provision of relevant training sessions.
  • Work with a highly proactive approach, using initiative to ensure a quality HR service is delivered to achieve business focused outcomes.
  • Provide support to the POD Business Partner on organisational change management including staff transfers through TUPE or redundancy ensuring appropriate consultation takes place.
  • Assist in the preparation of Employment Tribunal documentation and attend Tribunals to give evidence as and when required.

Essential Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Chartered member of MCIPD or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of Generalist HR
  • Ability to lead and complete projects in a timely manner whilst achieving required expectations.
  • Understanding of trade unions and experience of working in a unionised environment.
  • Good application of ICT in the workplace to produce reports and statistical information.
  • Understanding of Management information.

This is a temporary ongoing position with an initial period of 1 month.

This is a band 6 position that is full-time Monday to Friday 9-5.

Band 6 pay is around GBP16.04 per hour.
