Glasshouse Manager - Berries Farm
???The Company:
Our client is an established company, who grow and harvest Fresh Produce, including fruit, specialising in growing berries. Due to consistent growth and expansion, they are seeking to recruit a new General Manager.
The Industry: Fresh Produce, Fruit, Horticulture, Horticultural, Agriculture, Agricultural, General Manager, Operational Manager, Production Manager, Grower, Garden Centres, Nurseries
The Job Role Details:
General Management and overall responsibility for Production and Operations, overseeing the site, ensuring all H&S procedures are adhered to and striving to improve business management processes. Reporting directly into the Managing Director, you will demonstrate strong leadership, direction, and clear communication to the team, managing employee relation issues as they arise. Being accountable for the irrigation, maintenance of equipment, heating system, recycling and waste management ensuring that all checks/ preventative maintenance/ maintenance/ MOT/ servicing are adhered to.
Key Responsibilities:
Management Responsibilities - Site / People / Maintenance:
*
To manage all staff within business, delegating relevant staff and setting company targets.
*
To manage, plan and diarise workload efficiently, making decisive decisions when required.
*
To comply with all relevant Health and Safety procedures.
*
Organise despatch i.e., lorry planning.
*
Ensure efficient running of all systems on site.
*
Organising site maintenance and carrying out preventative checks.
*
Ensuring the company is consistently ready for audits.
*
Ensure the PR2 are up to date in advance.
*
Keep all Risk assessments up to date.
*
Ensure the training file is up to date.
*
Organise the accommodation and keep plan up to date.
*
Carrying out any Ad-hoc duties as and when required by the MD and Ops Manager.
Growing Responsibilities:
*
Look after the heating systems and climate conditions.
*
Maintain the irrigation systems.
*
Working with Group Agronomist on feed mixing.
*
Organise the fertiliser, chemicals and biological stocks and deliveries.
*
Crop walking.
*
Monitoring and recording moisture levels - EC/PH.
*
Spraying Pesticides / COSHH records.
Ideal Person Skills and Qualifications:

Strong management and leadership skills.
*
Team building, driving enthusiasm.
*
Accept accountability and takes personal ownership.
*
Strong decision-maker.
*
Adaptable and flexible.
*
Effective communicator.

Organised and thorough with attention to detail.

Forklift/Spraying driving as required according to skills and training.
Salary package:
GBP 55,000 p.a. - GBP 60,000 p.a. - Experience Dependant
