Due to recent growth, Attivo Group have a new opportunity for a Management Accountant to join a growing team. The role will be working within the current Finance Team alongside two other Management Accountants, to maintain accurate financial records for Attivo Group. This includes the preparation of and reconciliation of monthly management accounts, supporting the VAT reporting procedure, supporting the financial due diligence of acquisitions and their subsequent on-boarding. This role would ideally suit a candidate from a practice or audit background. The role would be full time, 9am until 5pm with the option to work remotely for part of the week.

Main responsibilities

  • To prepare and reconcile the monthly management accounts for selected entities for presentation to the Head of Finance
  • Analyse all transactions posted and reconcile accounts from Trial Balance through to final Management Accounts
  • To complete Balance Sheet reconciliations for all entities; including Accruals, Prepayments, depreciation, amortisation, Hire Purchase
  • To calculate the VAT liability for selected entities utilising partial-exemption VAT workings where appropriate
  • To liaise with HMRC to discuss any questions or queries they may have
  • Manage cashflow through profiling of expenditure and income patterns, reporting any cash issues to the Head of Finance or CEO immediately
  • To produce audit pack for external independent auditors for review at Year End with full supporting schedules
  • To attend pre-audit meeting with Head of Finance with auditors, to assist auditors when on-site for field work, and attend post-audit meeting
  • Post any adjustments required into Sage 200 to align with statutory accounts
  • Ad hoc duties or reporting as required by Head of Finance or CEO.

Qualifications, skills and experience

  • minimum 5 GCSEs graded A-B, including Maths and English
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to work under pressure with a high level of accuracy
  • educated to degree level would be an advantage
  • Previous experience of working in a Management Accounting role
  • qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • committed to continuous professional development
  • ability to communicate complex financial reports to the Head of Finance and auditors
  • well organised, accurate and with high attention to detail
  • experience of acquisitions would be an advantage
  • first class time management skills
  • ability to forward plan and manage business demands and expectations
  • strong communications skills
  • experience within Financial Services and acquisitions would be advantageous

Salary and benefits

up to GBP45,000 depending on experience and qualification.
