We have a fantastic opportunity for Forklift Drivers (FLT Drivers) / Warehouse Operatives, working as part of a busy warehouse operations team at our clients Dagenham Facility.

The operation provides a first class service, based on rotating week about (Apply online only) & (Apply online only) Mon - Friday. There will be a need to work additional hours / shifts during peak periods

The role will initially focus on our EuroLink groupage operations, loading and unloading vehicles using a counter balance truck. Using truck mounted terminal and hand held scanner to check consignments during goods in, storage and loading processes. Checking for and reporting all damages, gaining maximum load fill without creating damage and following rules relating do the loading and storage of dangerous goods. Reporting to the Warehouse Team Leader you will play a key role in the warehouse operations ensuring that customer freight is loaded and unloaded in a safe, professional and time effective manner

There will be a need to work additional hours / shifts during peak periods

Key responsibilities for this role include:

Loading /unloading vehicles/trailers in a timely manner, in accordance with Company standards and procedures.
Handling pallets and oversize pallets/crates/cases, loose machinery/drums both stackable and non stackable.
Using scan guns & FLT touch screens
Labelling cargo and identification
Handling ADR goods (haz) of all classes
Strapping and securing loads from ground and bay level.
Strapping and securing loads using steps.
Moving products around the warehouse in a safe and efficient manner and loading/unloading into/from racking as required
Operating other machinery where trained and as required.
Carry out other warehousing duties as required.
Ensuring housekeeping and hygiene procedures and standards are adhered to at all times.
Ensuring pre-shift inspections are carried out on all MHE.
Ensuring Health & Safety inspections are carried out on a daily basis.
Ability to be flexible with any special shift change requirements.

The successful applicants will ideally possess the following key skills and attributes:

Previous warehouse experience.
Counterbalance licence held for minimum of 3 years.
Experience in operating counterbalance also with long forks.
Experience in cross dock operations.
Experience in loading/unloading driving on and off trailers (Loading Docks).
Experience of using dock levellers.
Capable of working at height.
Smart appearance and positive attitude.
Ability to work on own initiative.
Good documentation skills, ability to pay attention to detail.
Good packaging knowledge and ability to cross check this to documentation.
Ability to work within a team.
Good communication skills.
Numerate and literate.
Ability to work under pressure and to strict timescales.
Flexibility with hours of work.
Experienced in use of PPT equipment.
Experienced in use of manual pallet truck handling and manual handling skills.
Good Health & Safety awareness and able to work to procedure

Flexibility is required from time to time in order to cover additional hours and meet the needs of the business
