As External Affairs Consultant, you will lead the EA in Wales, working with a dynamic and energetic team where you will have the opportunity to play a part in making a difference every day. This is a leadership role, bringing stability and strategic direction to your team, and the organisation in Wales.

This is an exciting time for the National Trust in Wales. Working with our property and consultancy teams, this role will be instrumental in shaping how National Trust Cymru is seen in Wales and the wider world.

Alongside the External Affairs Consultant we are also recruiting for an Marketing and Communications Consultant, we recognise that there may be some overlap of skills and experience with these two posts so we welcome applications from candidates whose skills match both roles to apply for both roles.

As External Affairs Consultant your remit will cover the whole of Wales and therefore we can be flexible with the location; you will be based from your nearest office hub, and may work from home; but also, the role will involve being out and about so you'll need to be comfortable with travelling around.

Reporting into, and working closely with, your Consultancy Manager, the Senior Management Team and our central Heads of Profession, you will work to shape our strategy and support our amazing places across Wales.

You'll manage and lead a team of External Affairs professionals to deliver our strategy across Wales, you'll be responsible for providing direction, being clear on priorities, as well as coaching and supporting colleagues. This is a key role in ensuring our reputation is well managed, so knowledge of reputational management is a must, an ability to work collaboratively and with partners is also essential and a passion for heritage, and the environment would be a great advantage.

You'll often be consulted by members of our leadership teams at our properties to share your professional knowledge and advice to help their teams work most effectively. In addition, you will work with the broader National Trust External Affairs community nationally to share knowledge and great practice.
