Compliance Officer - Part Time
Meridian are currently recruiting for a well-respected, progressive and market leading Law Firm. The company is seeking a Compliance Officer on a part time basis to join their team during a period of growth. The Compliance Officers role will be to predominantly review and develop internal compliance procedures and ensure all necessary regulatory changes are implemented as and when required. The role will also involve reviewing working practices and implementing necessary changes, ensuring compliance manuals are kept up to date, reviewing employees' work and providing regular feedback and advice to the Partners.
Role Duties of the Compliance Officer:
Develop and implement an effective legal compliance program
Create sound internal controls
Draft and revise company policies
Proactively audit processes, practices and documents
Collaborate with external auditors
Set plans to manage a crisis or compliance violation
Educate and train employees on regulations and industry practices
Keep abreast of internal standards and business goals
Ensure Lexcel and CQS compliance and lead the annual review and assessments
Support the MLRO, COLP and COFA in decision making and policy implementationRequirements:
A minimum of 2 years Legal Compliance experience
Proven experience as a Compliance Officer or Compliance Manager
Experience in risk management
Knowledge of legal requirements and controls (e.g. Anti-Money Laundering, AML, GDPR)
Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards
Excellent communication skills
Integrity and professional ethics
Business acumen
Teamwork skills
