This particular position sits as part of our well-established but growing Payroll team in Cambridge and will be responsible for preparation and provision of client payrolls and reports. The post holder will be expected to be a highly proficient user of Microsoft packages, specifically Excel and hold previous experience in payroll software and processing payrolls in an office environment
What will you be doing?
- Undertake a range of computerised and manual payroll processing assignments from start to finish on Star
- To provide excellent customer service, helping to develop and maintain client relationships and reinforce the premium payroll service we provide.
- To actively provide a first point of contact for clients
- To keep up to date and learn new skills as the client work demands
- Effectively manage own time on assignments
- Process Payroll End of Year Returns
- Assist with queries from clients and internally within the team, providing day to day support to Trainee Payroll Processors as and when required
- Reconcile and to resolving any issues with reference to both the client and to colleagues
- Control the assignment and record the time spent on tasks accurately and in accordance with the Price Bailey client time recording system
- Assist with payroll processing from other team members allocations
What will you bring to the table?
- The successful applicant will be a confident and experienced payroll professional with prior experience in a bureau environment. A solid understanding of manual payroll calculations is crucial as is the need to be up to date with all current payroll legislation including RTI and EPS.
- Due to the client facing nature of the role, applicants must display a professional attitude at all times with the ability to not only listen but to truly understand the client's needs, They will be a relationship driven person who is able to handle and manage client queries on a daily basis. Strong attention to detail is obviously a must as is the ability to work as part of a team
