Warehouse Operative

Based in Barnstaple our client is a leader in paper based packaging; supplying market sectors such as FMCG and e-commerce.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse Operative to join the team. Reporting to the Warehouse Team Leader, you will be responsible for operating the strapper, loading/unloading pallets and marshalling pallets. The successful candidate will have a key role in ensuring a safe and timely delivery of product and the quality of the finished goods pallets received by our customers.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Operate at all times in line with training provided and in particular with the requirements of all safe systems of work related to the tasks performed.
  • Always work in line with advised health and safety and company quality standards.
  • General manual handling.
  • Operating the hand strapper.
  • Booking product out using our computer system.
  • Loading/Unloading vehicles.
  • Marshalling finished goods.
  • Feeding work to all machines across the factory.
  • Communicating with other departments regarding despatches.
  • Re-working of pallets.
  • Dispersing of palletised waste.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping levels in the warehouse and yard.

Ideally the successful candidate will have the following:

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment.
  • An energetic and proactive "hands on" approach, complemented by accuracy, adherence to deadlines and procedures.
  • Good literary, numeracy and computer skills.
  • Previous FLT experience and a strong understanding of despatch processes.
  • Logical thought process and be able to work alone as well as part of a structured team.
  • Ability to make calculated decisions under pressure, alongside offering a flexible and adaptable attitude towards work.
  • Strong communication skills and a keen attention to detail are also a necessity.

The successful candidate will be assigned to work 10:00 - 18:00 Monday to Friday.
