Warehouse Operative
Based in Barnstaple our client is a leader in paper based packaging; supplying market sectors such as FMCG and e-commerce.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse Operative to join the team. Reporting to the Warehouse Team Leader, you will be responsible for operating the strapper, loading/unloading pallets and marshalling pallets. The successful candidate will have a key role in ensuring a safe and timely delivery of product and the quality of the finished goods pallets received by our customers.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Operate at all times in line with training provided and in particular with the requirements of all safe systems of work related to the tasks performed.
- Always work in line with advised health and safety and company quality standards.
- General manual handling.
- Operating the hand strapper.
- Booking product out using our computer system.
- Loading/Unloading vehicles.
- Marshalling finished goods.
- Feeding work to all machines across the factory.
- Communicating with other departments regarding despatches.
- Re-working of pallets.
- Dispersing of palletised waste.
- Maintaining good housekeeping levels in the warehouse and yard.
Ideally the successful candidate will have the following:
- Experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in a fast paced environment.
- An energetic and proactive "hands on" approach, complemented by accuracy, adherence to deadlines and procedures.
- Good literary, numeracy and computer skills.
- Previous FLT experience and a strong understanding of despatch processes.
- Logical thought process and be able to work alone as well as part of a structured team.
- Ability to make calculated decisions under pressure, alongside offering a flexible and adaptable attitude towards work.
- Strong communication skills and a keen attention to detail are also a necessity.
The successful candidate will be assigned to work 10:00 - 18:00 Monday to Friday.
