Our client based in Dudley Specialising in commercial heating and ventilation (HVAC) Installations has an opportunity for an Estimator to join them on a permanent basis. This position will be based within our clients estimating department, working closely with all areas of estimating, pricing, and providing quotations for projects ranging from GBP2,000 to in excess of GBP1.5 million. The work will primarily be office based, but you will be required to visit various sites on occasion to undertake survey works.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established company with a broad range of clients, working within the construction industry gaining hands-on experience in a thriving and supportive workplace.

Role responsibilities:

• Measuring and taking off materials from construction drawings and project specifications
• Inputting take offs into the computer software
• Obtaining quotations for materials and sub-contract packages
• Collating all of the above into a formal estimate and preparing written quotations
• Liaising with clients regarding quotations
• Making sales calls to generate tender opportunities

The successful candidate will:

• Have proven experience working in a similar role within the construction industry
• Knowledge of HVAC Installations is desirable
• Proven experience working with tenders with both the public and private sector clients
• Previous experience of working to targets and able to work to tight deadlines
• Be self-motivated and capable of managing own workload, self-prioritising and working independently
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong ability with maths and English
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; with the ability to work well at all levels.
• Good IT skills, with strong familiarity with Microsoft office products with the ability to learn and pick up new systems.
• Full UK Driving licence
