Area Sales Manager
Our client is committed to developing innovative, energy saving controls for lighting, heating and ventilation.
They are looking for a self-driven and highly motivated Area Sales Manager based in the South West England Area to join their highly successful sales team.
The sales team is a fundamental part of the business who play a vital role in our client's success, growth and profitability. You will work closely alongside other sales team members and other departments in order to proactively drive sales. You will report to the Southern Regional Sales Manager and will predominantly cover Southwest England although travel to other parts of UK may be required as and when necessary.
Your key responsibilities will be (but not limited to):
- Maintaining and expanding relationships with existing clients
- Following up new business opportunities and arranging/attending meetings
- Delivering sales presentations as and when required
- Using, and building, a network of industry contacts to generate new business
- Achieving (and exceeding where possible) sales targets as determined by the Regional Sales Manager and the Sales Director
- Building and maintaining a 'territory'
- Attending client meetings, as well as sales meetings
- Building up a rapport with new and existing clients
- Producing and delivering a written report on sales related activity each month
- Reporting market/customer feedback back to senior managers/directors
- Communicating new product developments/changes to prospective clients
- Keeping up to date with competitors' activity and changes in the industry
- Working closely with the ACT!/CRM Coordinator to ensure opportunities/quotes and contacts are up to date and maintained
- Designing and quoting lighting control systems as per clients/contractor's requirements in an efficient and effective manner
- Admin and other ad hoc duties when required
Your key skills:
- Experienced in the manufacturing and electronic/lighting industry
- Understand the existing market - main players, customers, competitors
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Genuine focus on improving customer satisfaction and engagement
- Highly developed influencing and negotiation skills combined with sound business acumen
- Willingness to travel to both local and remote to customer sites
- Strong and confident communicator (both written and verbal)
- Professional approach with an excellent telephone manner
- Self-motivated, conscientious and hardworking with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills
- Proactive and results driven
- Team player
- Confident using Outlook, Excel and ACT!
- Data savvy
- Proven experience as an Area Sales Manager with demonstrated success building strategic relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders within customer groups

- GBP38,000 - GBP55,000
- Full time, 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday (08:00-16:30)
- Permanent (subject to 6 months' probationary period)
