A Grounds Maintenance Operative
Monday to Friday 7am to 4:30pm April to September
Monday to Friday 7am to 1:30pm October to March
GBP9.22 to GBP11.58 per hour
Duties Include;
General maintenance of grounds e.g. cleaning, grass cutting, clearing of leaves and ehadge and shrub trimming. Maintenance of records relating to timesheets, tasks performed, vehicles and equipment, and materials. Maintenance of machinery and vehicles and reporting any defects or damage to the Grounds Manager. Use of appropriate tools and equipment including the operation of minor plant and machinery and powered hand tools. Maintenance tasks at sites as directed by the Service Delivery Manager/Grounds team Leader. Chemical and hand-weed control as well as ensuring that all locations visited are left in a clean and tidy state.
Skilsls Required ;
Ability to work to laid down schedules, the ability to work as part of a team and use of own initiative. The ability to deal with seasonal requirements and planning with good experience delivering a grounds maintenance service in a commercial envrionment. Good communication skills and resilient under pressure. Excellent customer liaison skills together with a commitment to customer service. Enthusiasm, ambition, commitment and drive for the role. Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and safety procedures. A full UK drivers license and trailer license are essential. Obligation to adhere to saf3e working practices and ensure consideration is given to the safety of the residents and the public. Knowledge of the use of chemicals (COSHH) and Health and Safety legislation is desirable. PA1/PA6 qualifications
