Data Engineer

My client, who are an internationally renowned technology company based in Edinburgh are looking to add several talented data engineers to their current team. You will work on projects of scale, with some of the latest technologies. We need enthusiastic engineers who thrive on change and problem solving and can innovate and pivot in this fast-moving environment, with large datasets. To give you an idea we are talking tens of millions of data points and continuing to scale.

We want engineers who can help solve business problems, gather data and use this knowledge to develop data models and use those to advise the web/app engineers about what data, and in what shape, therefore needs to be gathered.

What skills are used:

• SQL
• Amazon Kinesis Data Streams, Amazon Kinesis Firehose, Apache Flink and Spark Structured Streaming using Databricks.
• Go, Java, Python
• Amazon S3, Amazon Redshfit, PostgreSQL, occasionally MySQL
• Databricks, Tableau

We are looking for experienced data engineers with some of the skills above, who can gather and understand the data and use this to help scale and build the platform.
