Community Projects Support Workers (Bank)
South Devon and Torbay
£9.53 per hour
Bank – will be predominantly school holidays and weekends
Lifeworks Community Program is getting ready for the summer. If you like working outdoors, working with young people, cooking and physical activity then this might be the job for you. You will be supporting young people with learning disabilities to have the best Summer that they can. One day you might be harvesting fresh seasonal produce and cooking lunch over an open fire, the next day you might be doing yoga on a paddleboard, the day after you might be dancing across open fields like a character in The Sound of Music.
We are looking for people who are patient, enthusiastic, sensible, practical, creative and caring. If you have these traits, then this might be a great opportunity for you to join us for the Summer. Ideally, you will have an NVQ Level 2 in Health or Social Care, Youth Works or Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities, or currently studying in a related field e.g. community and/or outdoor sports, the arts, medicine or psychology. However, if you don’t have any of these things, we would still love to hear from you if you have a real passion for supporting young people and love working somewhere in which every day is different!
We are looking for people who can contribute to our delivery and support young people to GET ACTIVE – GET INVOLVED – GET CREATIVE – GET TOGETHER.
Lifeworks is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and young adults and they expect all staff to share this commitment. For this post, pre-employment checks will be carried out, references will be sought and successful candidates will need to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
As a Disability Confident Employer, we are committed to encouraging applications from people who declare they have a disability. Provided they meet the minimum criteria for the job (as detailed in the person specification), we would offer a guaranteed interview. If you would like to discuss this further or require support when completing your application, please get touch (contact details will be provided when you click the apply button).
If you are interested in this role, please apply today!
Interviews to be held: TBC
