DevOps Systems Engineer

We are hiring a DevOps Engineer to be based in our Sutton, South London office. You'll be working in the Core Operations team within a fast paced highly dynamic group, committed to continuous improvement and adoption of best practises. Core Operations is a recently formed team within the Infrastructure and Operations department working closely with our Architecture and Systems Engineering teams on delivering automation within the Global Operations teams. This position performs moderately difficult research, design and systems engineering assignments and also responds to system management alerts to handle system/operational exceptions, within the assigned enterprise systems of product offerings. Additionally, this position is also responsible for triage change management support. Technical Skills:

• Terraform
• Git
• Ansible or Puppet
• AWS / Azure
• An in-depth understanding of storage systems, Linux kernel and windows infrastructure
• Knowledge of Kubernetes

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate thorough understanding of major system components in completing assigned tasks (i.e., storage systems, Linux kernel and Windows infrastructure)
• Diagnose problems with application programs, common system, or systematic questioning techniques.
• Provide prompt recovery and problem escalation for the exceptions, extrapolating and interrogating information within defined boundaries, using multiple system management and problem management tools.
• Partner closely with development groups, support groups and vendors to coordinate special operations, and communicate/escalate problems as appropriate to meet assigned deadlines.
• Work closely with support groups to refine system monitoring and reporting, and to assist in their analysis and problem recovery.
