RM Recruit are working in collaboration with a well known Housing Association based in South London who are on the lookout for an Building Surveyor for circa 5 months.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a forward thinking organisation where you will be pivotal in decision making, assessments and working with a number of key stakeholders. The ideal candidate must have knowledge of Schedule of Rates. Furthermore, qualification in a construction related field i.e. Trade or ONC or qualified by experience.
Duties include:
* Carrying out for Pre & Post Inspections on repairs (routine repairs & maintenance) and Pre & Post Void Property Inspections.
* Undertaking Compliance Inspections in line with policy and legislation.
* Liaising with contractors and managing and monitoring their work.
* Knowledge of health and safety legislation, inspections, fire safety and legionella regulations.
The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organisational, I.T., high level numeracy skills and the ability to deliver a high standard of customer service to the organisation's tenants.
You will have experience of one or more aspects of housing repair / adaptation works and also be accomplished in managing and monitoring contractors' work and administering building contracts. Experience of identifying and addressing risk factors in relation to keeping people safe, warm and secure in their own homes will put you in good stead coupled with having the ability to sensitively negotiate solutions to problems arising during building works between vulnerable clients, builders and others. You will have the ability to challenge poor performance and sub-standard workmanship and provide an excellent customer service.
