Junior Surveyor - Potters Bar

This amazing opportunity for an energetic individual to join an AIM quoted Property Company who own GBP180 million of property over 100 locations in the UK, of which nearly all are managed in-house. Ideally candidates will already be working within the property industry in a similar position, already have a RICS accredited degree or be working towards it and looking to get your foot on the ladder to becoming a Surveyor.

As the surveyor you will carry out general practice surveying duties, primarily within estate management, rating and valuation, on mainly retail, residential, office and industrial properties.

Key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Supporting Directors and Managers with value enhancement opportunities and assisting other members of the company where needed.

* Assisting in the negotiation and management of the end of lease process including key hand over and dilapidations.

* Arranging and/or undertaking property site inspections, identifying and documenting any issues or works that may be required, and ensuring they are completed.

* Dealing with lettings, rent reviews, lease renewals and tenant applications for consent to assign, sublet and alter and ensuring tenants comply with lease obligations.

* Preparing and administering service charge expenditure.

* Ensuring compliance with legislation and other regulations.

* Assisting in property acquisitions and disposals.

* Liaising with tenants, contractors, agents, solicitors and other consultants.

* Overseeing planning applications and liaising with external consultants to see them through to completion.

* Monitoring business rates queries and overseeing appeals.

* And any other tasks that may be required to support the team and/or the company, from time to time.

Skills and competencies:

* Must have at least 6 months' experience of working in a similar role.

* A RICS accredited degree is desirable but not essential.

* Sound knowledge of the property industry, particularly the commercial property market.

* Good verbal and written communication skills.

* Able to work well under pressure, prioritise tasks and keep on top of your workload.

* IT literate, including Microsoft Office.

* Able to work well in a team and independently.

* Have a full UK driving licence.

Salary

On offer is a highly competitive salary, of GBP25k to GBP35k, depending on experience, along with the ability to earn bonuses.

Hours

35 per week - Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00 pm
