Our Childrens homes in Romiley, Stockport are currently recruiting for a senior to effectively and efficiently deliver the main responsibilities and key result areas within the Senior Residential Support Worker role. To ensure effective service delivery with a view to supporting the positive development of the children/young people, staff, service and organisation.

As our senior residential support worker…

You will support children with complex mental, behavioural and learning needs aged 5 to 18 years of age, being a positive and supportive role model encouraging confidence, self-esteem and essential life skills. As part of the senior team you will support with the leadership of an incredible residential team who work hard to empower these individuals to help them break through their barriers to take control of their lives, and experience happiness and security. Most importantly, you will ensure that they are safeguarded at all times in what can be a challenging environment. You will be part of a team that works to ensure they exceed the Children’s Homes regulations and Quality care standards in line with Ofsted Inspection frameworks.

About you

You are caring, passionate and looking to make a real difference to children’s lives.

Experience in residential child care and a Children, Young People and Families Residential Pathway or equivalent – are essential. Experience of leading shifts, key work, completion of monthly written reports and the ability to mentor/coach the team and the requirement to attend meeting of for and behalf of the children and parents. Having a good knowledge and understanding around the needs of looked after children particularly those with autism and learning disabilities is also a distinct advantage.

As the team provide 24/7 support, you will need to be flexible and willing to work shifts on a rota basis over a day 7 period, due to the nature of this role you will be required to take part in sleep over shifts, these are paid in addition to the 37.5 hours at a rate of £62.64 and are not included in the 37.5 hours advertised.

You must be over 21 years of age to apply for this role due to the age range of the young people in the service. (These roles are exempt from the Employment Equality (Age) Regulation 2006).
