Job Title - Transport Planner
Location - Morley
Hours 8am-5pm Mon-Fri
Salary - GBP25-35K
We have and exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport/ Logistics Planner to work for a national company that supply equipment and services into the construction industry.
Purpose of Role
Provide full support to your line manager delivering excellent customer service ensuring all transport movements are completed efficiently, accurately and in line with company policies / procedures / processes and customer requirements. Assist in the collation of transport related management data. Strive to ensure all transport movements are undertaken in the most cost effective manner working closely with all members of the commercial, technical & sales teams.
Main Duties
* Delivery and collections of equipment from customer sites and organise transfer between depots
* Cost control - implement efficiencies
* Liaise with all customers, the hire desk and operations teams to ensure accurate and prompt deliveries and collections
* Effective customer service skills
* Carry out courtesy calls
* Ensure records are accurately maintained
* Process purchase orders and inter depot transfers
* Ensure regional transport recovery is maximised whilst implementing the divisions policy
* Maximise transport revenue and minimise transport costs
* Timely planning of transport movements
Requirements
* Knowledge of hire industry advantageous
* Knowledge of Transport Planning.
* Knowledge of construction/housing/civil engineering industry advantageous
* Good geographical knowledge of region/UK essential. Geographical knowledge of Europe desirable.
* Knowledge of the EU working time directive.
* Knowledge of LGV service regimes advantageous.
* Knowledge of transport compliance/accreditation schemes, i.e. Crossrail, TFL, FORS, etc, advantageous.
* Knowledge of driver CPC requirements advantageous
* Basic computer literacy - MS Office/Outlook skills
* Knowledge of G42 or other similar hire rental asset management systems advantageous
* Knowledge of transport fleet management/scheduling software advantageous.
* Excellent telephone manner essential
