A market leading Steel Manufacturing company is looking for a Health, Safety and Environmental Coordinator to join their team near West Bromwich. The role of the Health, Safety and Environmental Coordinator is to assist and work closely with the Environmental, Safety and Training Manager in executing a strong Health and Safety strategy and ensuring compliance is always met in line with the Company's Health and Safety policies and procedures.
You will be NEBOSH or IOSH qualified and have previous working experience within Steel processing, Cold roll forming and Developing risk assessments in either a Production or Manufacturing background.
HSE Coordinator Responsibilities and Duties:
To advise on hazardous materials, environmental issues and waste management
To induct new employees, visitors and contractors on Health and Safety systems
To review safe systems of work and carry out inspections to identify unsafe equipment, working conditions, practices, fire hazards and then produce reports and recommendations regarding the correction of any defects.
To carry out Safety Audits when required
To conduct and complete various Health and Safety assessments, such as DSE, COSHH and Risk assessments
To manage accident and incident reporting and associated paperworkHSE Coordinator Experience and Qualifications required:
IOSH Managing Safely Certificate or NEBOSH General Certificate.
Can engage and communicate effectively with employees, managers, contractors and visitors.
Be self-motivated, tenacious and can work unsupervised in a fast-paced changing environment.
Ability to work with employees and managers in a supportive / collaborative way.
Be responsible for achieving objectives on own initiative, as well as part of a team.
Be able to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and pay attention to detail.
