Nagel Langdons have an exciting opportunity for a LGV Cat C&E Driver Tramper to join our team based in Luton. You will be working on a full time, permanent basis, Sunday - Thursday - This role will involve overnight stays in the vehicle up to 4 nights per week. In return, you will receive a competitive salary GBP37,376 per annum.

Ever wondered how Cornish ice cream gets to Glasgow without melting? Well that's what we do at Nagel Langdons. We have 9 depots and over 375 LGV's carrying chilled and frozen food all over the country. We're the only company providing a 24-hour service of this kind, and we're very good at it.
The LGV Cat C&E Driver Tramper role:
You will ensure that customer goods are collected and distributed in a safe, cost-effective and efficient manner.
What will you be doing as our LGV Cat C&E Driver Tramper?
- Drive company vehicles efficiently, legally, safely and with due consideration to other road users at all times.
- Ensure vehicle check procedures are fully conducted and recorded prior to and post journey times, reporting any defects to relevant colleagues where appropriate.
- Interpret and apply routing information to maximise journey times and routes where necessary, ensuring all relevant colleagues are updated when changes are required.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of vehicles in accordance with customer requirements and company procedures, including conducting regular temperature checks and raising any issues immediately with relevant colleagues.
- Maintain the vehicle in a clean and tidy condition at all times and ensure the company's legal obligations associated with the carriage of food are met.
- Anticipate and address factors that adversely affects ability to drive safely and take proactive steps to maximise driving performance.
- Ensures all manifest and related proof of delivery paperwork are fully completed, signed and returned to relevant colleagues.
Qualifications and experience we're looking for in our LGV Cat C&E Driver Tramper:
- C+E Licence to drive articulated vehicles and in date
- In date Driver CPC Qualification Card Holder and fully functional Drivers Tachograph Card
- Extensive knowledge and application of driver rules, regulations, food safety and health and safety procedures
- Be able to compile, analyse and interpret relevant data
Skills and abilities we're looking for in our LGV Cat C&E Driver Tramper:
- Ability to use available tachograph equipment and complete manual entries where required
- Ability to use initiative and to be so organised that key tasks can be completed fully and on time
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
- Ability to work to fluid targets and deadlines
- Proven verbal and written communication skills
- Proven arithmetic skills
- Effective working unsupervised for long periods and in a team-based environment
