A brand new opportunity has arisen for proactive, ambitious and personable customer service professional based locally to Redditch to join a market leading manufacturer and distributor.

This role will join a growing team that is currently going through a recruitment drive following an acquisition of the business.

I have just had a meeting with the two hiring managers and they were extremely friendly, personable and very credible.

Ultimately this role falls under the sales remit but is very much a customer service role.

Location: Redditch

Salary: GBP20-22,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Benefits: Competitive salary, prospects to progress in the business, life assurance, 20 days holidays plus bank holidays, increasing to 25 plus bank holidays after 2 years (also ability to buy / sell annual leave), Pension is 4% company contribution.

Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm

The main purpose of this role is to answer incoming customer queries, be a key player within the team and assist with admin.

Duties include:

• Answering incoming customer queries over the phone and email/online orders

• Identify and maximise on customer & margin opportunities

• Up-sell and cross-sell where applicable

• Process sales orders

• Processing invoices

• Log all info on CRM system (Sage)

• Provide product info and stock availability

• Arrange deliveries and update on delivery dates

• Work closely with production to process orders

• Stock ordering

• Liaising with suppliers

The ideal candidate:

• Must have previous customer service experience

• Industry experience is not essential but I believe this role would suit someone from an industrial, manufacturing, engineering or distribution environment, but as said not essential

• Must be competent with IT, comfortable with Microsoft Excel and can pick up the Sage system they use

• Must be a confident communicator, the sort of person who can pick up the phone to anyone and doesn't hide behind emails

• Must be resilient

• Must have initiative and the ability to solve problems on their own

• High level of accuracy
