Our client is a large charity and housing association that support people overcoming homelessness, mental health issues and drug and alcohol problems. They provide residential, prison, community and specialist services.
Position Available: Substance Misuse Practitioner - Lambeth, 37.5 hours, temporary 3-4 months, GBP14.15 per hour
"We have an exciting opportunity at the Lambeth Consortium for an Substance Misuse Practitioner. We work alongside SLaM offering structured treatment, psychosocial support and GP shared care services for Lambeth residents. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working within a multi-faceted service with and have experience of working with people presenting with substance, alcohol and associated issues, and have a keen understanding of recovery.
We are looking for a Substance Misuse Practitioner to manage a caseload of service users presenting with drug and alcohol issues. The role will involve offering a range of harm reduction interventions and structured key working, helping engage service users in a care-planned and recovery focussed way to attain improved health outcomes and achieve their personalised treatment goals. You will be required to undertake assessment, duty cover, and partnership work with internal and external agencies. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a recovery focussed way. Working with clients to achieve and improve holistic outcomes, personalised treatment and recovery goals"
The ideal candidate will have worked in a prescribing service before with a clinical partner.
Role Purpose:
To work within a Consortium Lambeth Drug and Alcohol Treatment Consortium provides community support for people with drug and alcohol problems. Working with our partners, we offer free confidential service to all Lambeth residents aged 18 and over.
To work effectively and in partnership with SLaM as well as other key partners within the Borough. This includes networking and establishing links where appropriate.
To provide structured 1 to 1 psychosocial interventions, Brief Interventions and Harm Minimisation to people with problematic drug/alcohol use.
To support substance mis-users to re-integrate fully into meaningful activity.
To demonstrate a positive recovery orientated ethos in all engagement.
Experience required:
Relevant experience of work in the field of drug /alcohol and substance misuse
Experience of key working
Able to assess, plan and implement care
Experience of completing documentation such as comprehensive risk assessments
Experience of creating person-centred care plans based on needs identified at assessment
Experience of partnership working and multi-agency liaison
Experience of achieving agreed objectives, targets and deadlines
Other requirements
No criminal record that prevents work with our client group or which would harm our reputation
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word and familiar with relevant database management systems such as SystmOne
