Step One is a charity that supports people with disabilities and mental health issues to take control of their future and fulfil their potential. Their vision is a society where our differences are an essential part of a healthy and vibrant community. The charity is recruiting a TRUST FUNDRAISING MANAGER who will lead on generating income from Trusts and Foundations in line with the fundraising strategy, to enable future growth. To coordinate and maintain a healthy pipeline of funders through effective research. To build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders including existing and potential new funders.
The role can be largely home-based, with office space provided in Exeter.
Responsibilities include:
Work with the Fundraising Consultant to deliver, monitor and review the fundraising strategy
Build a portfolio of successful relationships with grant making organisations – maintain those relationships to increase the likelihood of successful reapplications and continuation funding
Through effective and continuous research, build and maintain a pipeline of potential funders, matching with appropriate workstreams
Work with project / service delivery staff to gain information (inputs, activities, outputs) and golden nuggets (statistics, testimonials and case studies) that can be included in bids.
Craft compelling copy for a range of applications to external funders
Person specification to include:
Experience of developing successful applications (at all levels up to 6 figure sums)
A track record of achieving fundraising targets (both individually and as a team)
A good track record of sustaining long term positive relationships with funders
Engaging and inspiring verbal and written communication skills
Conscientious, reliable, attention to detail
Self-motivated and able to use own initiative to perform role successfully
Strong focus on building and maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders
