The Sales Manager is responsible for managing & driving the day-to-day activities of a team of the Account Management Team. The role encompasses all aspects of team leadership including the following: developing the plan; recruitment; providing training, setting KPIs & monitoring; devising a regular coaching program. This is to ensure that revenue targets are hit & sales are maximised. The role will also contribute to the wider Sales Operations leadership team & the development of the whole department.

The role:

  • Lead the Account Management team with the aim of achieving the current customer sales and retention goals as set by the business.
  • Managing & leading the day to day activities of the team. Ensuring that all activities are carried out to a high standard. Ensure fast & efficient response to all customer needs.
  • Support customers throughout the customer journey ensuring they have an appropriate onboarding experience allowing them to get the best value from their investment, this is backed up as they use the product and issues are resolved swiftly to lead to a high chance of renewal.
  • Day to day operational management of AM kpi's including workload & absence management.
  • As needed to achieve goals and role model best practice, undertake sales calls yourself to secure sales.
  • Build team expertise to ensure a strong, in-depth knowledge of products, processes & account management techniques.
  • Be a flexible team player, ready to support your colleagues if workload requires a change in your priorities.
  • Attend external events and conferences if required.
  • Contribute to the wider Account Management team in order to support the effective running & development of the whole department.
  • Support both the creation & delivery of training initiatives.
  • Lead and drive a positive and respectful culture. Being customer led, expect a high level of delivery and commitment, set a good level of challenge to develop both yourself and your team.
  • Performance manage the team including setting of objectives & delivery of monthly / half yearly and yearly 121s with SSEs.
  • Maintain the CRM database and system processes and provide feedback as appropriate.

Salary: GBP32,000 - GBP35,000 plus commission

  • Data driven and strong analytical skills to set and assess metrics. Leveraging customer and financial data (inc CRM systems) rigorously to target effort, measure performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Championing and representing the needs of the customer collaboratively throughout the organisation
  • Experience of dealing with customers in a market where professionalism and sensitivity are important
