Grounds Keeper/Landscape Assistant required for our long term client
The role is to assist in maintaining and improving the grounds and landscape of an established Estate in East Sussex general knowledge is required but training can be given to the right level of candidate
GENERAL FUNCTIONS
Grass cutting using strimmers, pedestrian and self-propelled mowers.
Undertaking in-house landscaping projects to the grounds and gardens of let properties to include:
Clearance and relevelling works using hired-in plant including mini-diggers and Rotavators
Laying of impermeable stoned surfaces as well as grass turf and its immediate aftercare
Installation and maintenance of agricultural and domestic fencing including.
Stock netting, barbed wire, close board fencing, picket fencing, post and rail, rabbit netting and hanging gates.
Ability to use agricultural equipment and have industry based professional tickets helpful but training can be given to the right level of Candidate PA1/PA6 Certificates ideal but again training can be considered
Firewood processing and bagging / storage of accumulated cordwood.
Topping of grassland and woodland rides
Spot spraying of weeds using knapsack sprayers
Litter picking
Clearance and scarifying of field ditches
Ivy control and removal
Hedge cutting
Formative pruning of young trees
Small scale tree felling and processing of cordwood
Good health and safety discipline
Maintenance and repair of private tracks and roadways. Ensure machinery & equipment is properly maintained and cared for
Salary GBP23,000 to GBP25,000 according to skills/knowledge 21 days holiday plus statutory days Core Hours 8am to 4.30. Monday - Friday plus breaks Flexible to do additional hours in busy times. excellent Pension scheme Car owner driver
