Sterling Recruitment Services Ltd are currently recruiting for a Technical Quality Lead based at our busy client based within Middlesbrough.
Hours: Monday to Friday - 08.30am - 16.30pm with some flexibility when needed
Job Description
To manage the effective day to day running of the Laboratory and working closely with production teams ensuring that all product safety, legal and quality requirements are met.
Would report to the Technical Manager
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
* Responsible for the correct functioning of the laboratory including availability of equipment and training of staff.
* Ensure calibration of all laboratory and production equipment is carried out and up to date records maintained.
* Collation and monitoring of all results produced by the laboratory.
* Issuing of product specifications to the laboratory.
* Ensuring that a production process is halted if a process is deemed to be out of specification until the operation can be corrected.
* Assisting with Supplier NCR reporting and actions.
* Assisting with Customer Complaint investigations.
* Positive release of finished product.
* Support the development and delivery of internal staff training.
* Participate in retailer and third party audits.
* Assist in managing investigations into product safety, quality and legality and implementing corrective actions.
* Ensure adherence to good hygiene practices in the factory.
* Ensure adherence to the product quality standards and specifications.
* Work closely with the factory leadership team to continuously improve quality on site.
* To ensure site compliance with Quality Management System.
* To provide cover in the laboratory when needed.
* Ensure laboratory area is kept clean & tidy to maintain good housekeeping standards.
* Be prepared to challenge, heck, change and communicate current and future processes to achieve best in class status.
* Embed the company values into the department and all that you do.
* Any other duties as deemed necessary by the Technical Manager.
* To carry out all of the above duties in a safe and sensible manner, adhering to all Health & Safety standards.
The ideal candidate would have:
* A degree level qualification in a food or a science related subject or a minimum of 3 years experience in a Technical / Quality Assurance/ Laboratory food manufacturing role
