Assertive Outreach Worker (Support Worker)
The Whitechapel Centre is a Liverpool based charity which works in partnership with The Basement Advisory Centre, Addaction, Merseycare and Liverpool City Council to provide targeted support to people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or have a street lifestyle. We offer help with building confidence, developing independent living skills and supporting people to address substance use or other health and wellbeing issues. We also help people to access social and community networks, training, education and employment.
Working within the Liverpool area, as part of our wider services for rough sleepers and people with a street lifestyle, your role will involve reaching out to people with multiple and complex needs, providing crisis intervention, initial assessment, support and advice.
You will need experience of working with rough sleepers or people with highly complex needs in a homelessness, housing or support setting; first class assessment and support planning skills, a good working knowledge of local housing, support and treatment agencies, welfare rights and related legislation and the passion and persistence to combine these to make a real difference to the lives of some of our hardest to reach clients.

Please note that we expect this service to be tendered in 2021. Hours are 37.5 per week worked flexibly across 7 days on a rolling rota involving some early morning and late evenings by arrangement
