As a Build Manager you may look at these companies now and wonder what it was like when they started. Maybe you've imagined how cool it would have been to have worked at Gigaclear when Matthew Hare set it up in 2010. Perhaps being at Hyperoptic in 2011 when they launched the first gigabit per second service would have been fun. Probably, you're glad you weren't involved with the massive missed OpenReach connectivity target in 2015???..the less said about that the better!

None of these companies started as the huge beasts they are today. They began as a small team of talented people who delivered a fantastic service.

How great would it be if an opportunity like that came up again?

Have a look around the firm where you're currently working. Are there any progression opportunities for you? Do you feel you are making a difference on a daily basis or just a cog in a big machine? Could you put your epic Build Manager skills to better use?

This client is a smaller operator with major-league ambitions. They are well financed and set to grow significantly over the next couple of years. Those growth plans start with this key role of Build Manager and that's where you come in.

Bring your knowledge of running builds and improving process and you will be quickly a key figure in their team.

You'll have the opportunity to use your people management skills & process knowledge to the maximum. If you have experience within the Fibre Telecoms space as well, that would be very, very useful. Any experience of rail or construction would be a close second.

As the company grows, you'll have increasing opportunities to progress into the Senior Management Team.

You'd probably expect a company like this to be in the centre of London requiring you to be in the office 24/7, but that could not be further from the truth. This is an opportunity based in Bath. So hopefully there's no painful commute involved and plenty of opportunity to grab a cheeky Nandos or KFC & chill out by the river if required!
