Senior IT Security Analyst - NISA
GBP45,000 - GBP51,800 plus benefits (Grade D17)
Remote working with some travel to our Scunthorpe office

Full time, 37.5 hours a week

We're looking for a senior IT (information technology) security analyst to join us, and provide advice on the justification, implementation and operation of technology and information security controls for NISA. we'll look to you to provide technical consultancy and support to IT teams, identifying security issues with the operational infrastructure and systems, helping to solve issues and liaising with operational support teams for the work to be completed.

You'll lead and own the development of vulnerability management, security programme improvement projects and reporting workstreams. Incident investigation and technical auditing will also form a key part of this role in addition to supporting the Head of Information Security and the wider team with the overall delivery of the Nisa security function.

What you'll do:

• support in the delivery of the information security and governance improvement programme across the IT department and the wider NISA business
• work collaboratively with Co-op colleagues on vulnerability management and security reporting workstreams
• focus on continuous improvement within the development of the reporting and vulnerability workstreams
• provide technical expertise and act as an expert for the design, implementation, configuration and maintenance of the Nisa Security toolset
• quality assure use cases, play books and standard operating procedures (SOPS) created by security colleagues, making sure they fit with Nisa priorities and provide coverage across the MITRE attack framework
• drive Security transformation programmes, making sure Nisa is protected against the current threat landscape

This role would suit people who have:

• significant experience in an IT support, operations or security role, with knowledge of cloud-based technologies (such as Office 365, Azure and AWS) and Advanced Threat Protection offerings / real time online threat intelligence
• great communication and mentoring skills
• previous experience of information governance improvement projects/programmes, and of owning projects from inception to early life support
• knowledge of vulnerability management, escalation, resolution of findings and associated reporting.
• good knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
• technical understanding and experience of managing network hardware and protecting systems that provide defence in depth, such as Firewalls, DDoS, IPS, IDS, NAC, Netflow, Proxies, WAF and Micro segmentation
