Job roles:
As a member of the Senior Management Team:
- Play a key role in financial analysis and decision making based on that analysis.
- Contribute equally to strategic decisions on resources and priorities.
- Provide short term line management cover for SMT colleagues as required.
Manage the organisation's customers
- Take responsibility for securing customers and all the charity's not-grant-funded income. (c.60% of the charity's income)
- Accept enquiries and issue quotations, booking forms etc
- Set the annual pricing policy with the Chief Executive
- Send requests for information to the customer prior to their visit, and evaluations afterwards. Assess the evaluation responses to identify any areas of concern.
Fundraising

- To make applications for funding from grant making trusts, foundations and other similar funders. This includes discussing projects with partner organisations and making appropriate arrangements.
- To manage and maintain excellent relationships with funders, including monitoring the outcomes of funded projects and reporting back to funders.
- To carry out research, mainly on the internet, looking for potential new funders.
Marketing and sales
- Take the lead on marketing, including appointing suppliers as required.
- Manage the production of brochures etc.
- Update the charity's website and bookings site, and take a lead on all website issues.
- Manage the charity's social media presence, including uploading content
Finance
- Line-manage the Accounts Clerk, ensuring she is well informed and supported, and that the finance processes are working properly.
- Chase up debtors as required.
- Liaise with key contracted suppliers, identify the best value, negotiate contracts (eg phones etc.)
- Maintain ongoing income records and supply data to the accountant. Also use income data to make forecasts and comparisons which inform our decision making.
- Help assemble annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts in light of knowledge of income.
We contract with a chartered accountant, so accountancy is not part of this role.
Other roles as reasonably requested by the Chief Executive befitting a member of the Senior Management Team.
