Our Local Authority client has a 2 Month CONTRACT vacancy (with a possibility of an extension) for a IT ENGINEER, details as follows

Job Purpose

To assist with the wider delivery of services across the Organisation by ensuring that support functions including policy, IT security, information security, service agreements, performance management and quality processes are suitable and sufficient.
Responsible for the management of the performance, security and quality processes across the Organisation. The post also involves reviewing work and advising on best practice including the review of current IT security and governance processes.
Contributes to the strategic direction of the infrastructure service, continually looking to transform and improve the service provision.
An ability to work in a position of constant change and management of conflicting priorities, together with deadlines.
Undertakes work at a high level across a range of specialist disciplines.
To support by assisting with the monitoring, maintenance and installation of systems to agreed standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities

Assesses, analyses, develops, documents and implements changes based on requests for change.
Carries out detailed risk assessment within a defined functional or technical area of business, to ensure that policies, processes and procedures comply with current statutory requirements.
Performs risk assessment, business impact analysis and accreditation for all major information systems within the organisation.
Collects, collates and examines records as part of specified testing strategies for evidence of compliance with management directives, or the identification of abnormal occurrences.
Analyses evidence collated and drafts part or all of formal reports commenting on the conformance found to exist in the reviewed part of an information system's environment.
Obtains and acts on vulnerability information and conducts security risk assessments for business applications and computer installations; provides authoritative advice and guidance on security strategies to manage the Organisation's identified risks.
Investigates breaches of security, and recommends appropriate control measures and system improvements. Interprets security policy and contributes to wider development of new standards and guidelines that comply with this and any future changes.
Monitors service delivery performance metrics and liaises with managers and customers to ensure that service level agreements are not breached without the stakeholders being given the opportunity of planning for a deterioration in service.
