GDS is seeking a Software Developer

GDS was formed to provide easy to use business management software for motor trade professionals. Since our inception in June 2006 we have installed our GDS Workshop Manager system in over 2000 workshops across the UK and Ireland.

GDS are looking for an experienced Software Developer to join our team in Beverley.

The role is a full time, permanent position offering a salary that is negotiable depending on overall experience, up to GBP38,000 .

Skills required and/or desired

Our core products to date were designed for and built using Microsoft Visual Basic 6, SQL Server and Crystal Reports. We also operate several web services that have been developed with HTML, JavaScript and ASP. Newer and more recent modules and web services have been developed using C# and ASP.NET languages.

In order to help us maintain and develop our Windows based workshop management systems you should be proficient in Visual Basic and T-SQL / SQL Server. Some experience of C# and ASP.NET is highly desirable.

You must have good communication skills as part of the role will involve liaising with our Management, Helpdesk and Admin teams. You should also have good analytical and problem solving abilities. Part of the role will involve investigating and rectifying potential problems in our systems which could be raised by customers.

Experience of a source control system such as Subversion / TortoiseSVN or Github is desirable.
