At Home-Start Oxford we make a big impact for families in the local area. Home-Start believes that children need a happy and secure childhood and that parents play the biggest role in giving their children a good start in life and helping them achieve their full potential.

Home-Start offers support, friendship and practical help to parents with young children in local communities throughout the UK. We recruit and train volunteers, who are usually parents themselves, to provide informal, friendly and confidential support through visiting families at home, and running groups.

In this important new position, you will undertake outreach and networking, alongside support for families, to drive forward the charity’s commitment to create a diverse and interconnected community. You will:

Be experienced in building trusted relationships with communities experiencing inequality.
Have employment or voluntary experience in developing & delivering groups for families & young children.
Have experience in successfully delivering outreach programmes.
Have an understanding of the difficulties facing marginalised parents and strategies to overcome them.
Be able to work collaboratively and build strong networks within the local community.

It’s an exciting time to join us as we have ambitious plans to expand our service.

Are you ready to join a charity that supports families with young children so they don’t have to face their toughest times alone?

We believe that diversity in the workplace enables us to create a relevant, innovative and effective organisation. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from candidates with diverse life experience. We are committed to recruitment that is fair and free from bias.

Home-Start Oxford is a Disability Confident Employer. Please get in touch if you require this information in an alternative format, or to discuss an alternative form of application or other forms of reasonable adjustment.
