Planning Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen within a manufacturing organisation in Huddersfield. This position of Planning Manager is a newly created position for the successful candidate to make their own.

Customer delivery and innovation are at the heart of their ethos and, with this newly created position, they hope to further improve processes and systems within their supply chain.

Description

This Planning Manager will be responsible for both supply, inventory, demand and production planning in a standalone role.

• Assessing the current ERP/MRP system and making improvements and/or recommendations
• Engaging stakeholders across the business
• Assess global outsourcing capabilities for some finished products
• Work closely with the Manufacturing and Production team to ensure products are delivered on time to meet customer demand
• Develop relationships with suppliers to improve areas such as cost and delivery time
• Manage and balance inventory - long lead times from suppliers against short lead times from customers.

Profile

The successful candidate for this position of Planning Manager will ideally have:

• Planning experience within a Manufacturing and Production environment.
• Supply planning (or purchasing) and production planning experience.
• Excellent knowledge of mrp/erp systems and Excel - any implementation experience would be desirable
• Demonstrable examples of engaging stakeholders (internally and externally)
• A high level of emotional intelligence.
