Science Technician - Trainee

I am working with an OFSTED outstanding school in Hertfordshire who are seeking a conscientious and enthusiastic Science Technician to support their Science Department in September, ready for the new academic year.
The role will be term time only and hours 8:30 -16:00.
No prior knowledge of Science syllabus, curriculum and specifications is required since full external and on the job training will be provided. The applicant should be keen to work as part of a team in a busy environment and will have good communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:
-Carrying out preparatory work for Science classes
-Clearing away apparatus, material and equipment after use
-Returning items to store and disposing of waste
-Supporting teaching staff to carry out their roles especially with regard to departmental procedures, including Health & Safety issues.

Preferred Skills:
-Minimum of A Level in a Science
-Interest in the science curriculum
-Understand the demands of a Science department
-Familiarity with technical equipment
