Our client is an award winning flooring retailer.
Sales volumes have increased significantly over the past 6 months, and now are looking for a HGV Class 2 driver to join their team in Gillingham.
The Job Role:
You will be delivering rolls of carpet, grass and wood flooring to customers' houses. You will ensure high standards of customer service and legal compliance at all times. You will be working with box sided and tail lift vehicles on a dayshift pattern, variable hours
Key accountabilities are:
* To complete a Daily Vehicle Check to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and all checks are in line with the 'Daily Vehicle Check' procedure. All vehicle defects must be reported immediately in line with the 'Defect' procedure.
* To ensure all products are loaded safely onto the vehicle.
* All legislation and paperwork concerning the vehicle's Tachograph (Digi or Manual) is complied with.
* All vehicles are to be kept in a clean and presentable condition, both internally and externally any problem, accidental damage etc, should be reported immediately to the Transport team.
* Assist with loading or unloading of Company vehicles as and when required, some handballing will be required.
* Communicate any complaints or comments made by the customer and report any underlying reason where known.
* To drive in a responsible manner complying with all current EU Road Transport regulation at all times.
* Any other reasonable duties as allocated by the Transport Management Team
The Person:
* Full, Clean Driving Licence (HGV Class 2) and DigiTach holder.
* Experience of HGV 2 driving.
* Good geographical knowledge
* Good driving skills and knowledge of current Road Transport Regulations.
* Driver CPC.
* Polite, courteous, respectful and helpful
Hours:
* 6am start Monday - Friday
* You'd be required to work 45 hours per week although a high degree of flexibility is required to ensure availability at key operational times.
Salary: GBP14.25 per hour

* HGV2 Driving
Licence/Certification:
* Driver CPC
