The Client
A specialist fire and security company with offices throughout the UK and Ireland. They currently have several Fire Surveyors, Fire Engineers, Fire Consultant and Director roles based in various locations in their offices.
The Role
Your role will involve leading or working as part of a team on fire safety design and engineering projects, dependent on complexity, to ensure quality and service commitments are met. Candidates should be confident working independently and client facing, with excellent communication skills. You should be bold enough to be truthful to our clients and put project interests first. You should be capable of managing projects proactively, adept at working collaboratively with the client team on interesting, varied, and prestigious projects to remove borders and connect people wherever possible. You will be supported by some of the best fire safety professionals in the industry and exposed to state-of-the-art methods in fire engineering. You will be encouraged to see differently and always imagine a better way to enhance creativity and design.
Key Skills Required
Candidates should have an excellent working knowledge of relevant design guidance and legislation, both past and present in the UK alongside fire engineering methods. We would be looking for you to have some level of involvement or recognition with a professional body, or at least be working towards this, and we proactively encourage involvement in technical committees where they are of interest. Continual professional development is of paramount importance to us to ensure you stay wise, and our team are encouraged to develop skills and interests in support of personal and team goals, with regular internal CPD being delivered.
Experience and Qualifications Required
* A minimum of 4 years' experience working in a fire engineering role and have a recognised fire safety qualification or strong experience in fire safety fields.
* Very good interpersonal skills and demonstrable experience of developing and maintaining close links with colleagues, clients and contractors are essential.
* The candidate should be a member of the Institution of Fire Engineers and working towards registration with the Engineering Council.
* Can work on multiple projects concurrently, working to tight deadlines and juggling multiple demands.
