Kingspan Insulation is a global market leader in the manufacture and supply of premium high-performance rigid insulation within the building services sector. We are looking to recruit an External Site Technical Product Technician. As part of the Kingspan Assured programme, the position provides a mobile remote-based Product Technician for Kingspan Insulation customers. The company offers a competitive salary in return.
The Technical Product Technician role's main purpose is to be responsible for external technical advice, training and reviewing the installation of Kingspan products. This includes visiting construction sites, providing live training, demonstrations/tool box talks, and reviewing of installation of the Kingspan Insulation products. The Kingspan Insulation products include several brands incorporating a broad base including PIR Foam, Phenolic Foam, Mineral fibre insulation, vacuum Insulation, and XPS boards in major applications areas.
Key responsibilities of our Technical Product Technician:
- Provide technical installation advice to customers, visiting construction projects sites across the North/South of Great Britain. This would include meeting key people from the main contractors & sub - contractors on construction sites
- Provide training and live demonstrations at construction sites on Kingspan products including toolbox talks on how to install products
- Provide a report to customers on the installation of a Kingspan product for a particular project following a site visit
- Organise meetings with customers and design teams
- Review projects where an extended product warranty is required
- Ensures best practice advice is given at all times, in line with industry and company guidelines
- Acts responsibly and in the interests of the company, deferring queries via line managers, where uncertainty may exist
Key skills of our Technical Product Technician:
- A Constructions Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card
- Have Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or equivalent training
- Have experience on installing insulation products on construction sites
- Be able to demonstrate a solid technical background. Familiarity/knowledge/appreciation of British European and international standards for construction and insulation products and applications
- Highly motivated with a proven ability to work on their own
- National travel will be required
- Experience of insulation products
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Full UK Driving License
- Able to travel and work away from home
- Presentation and training skills
