We are proud to be a leading independent UK consultancy at the forefront of risk, pensions, investment and insurance. Each individual delivers on our shared values and our commitment to ensuring the highest levels of trust, integrity and quality.

The Employer Consulting team specializes in varying disciplines and this role sits within the Platform & Benefits team: benefit consulting, online benefits and technology, wellbeing and health and risk. Over the last few years, we have devoted our time and effort to address the issues and needs of our corporate clients created by the ever-changing employee benefits space, technology advancements and more recently, the pandemic.

We are looking to recruit an ambitious, highly motivated, proactive individual to work alongside experienced consultants within our Benefits team. You will support the consultants in the delivery of our services, across all streams within the team, with a view to progression to a client oversight role, responsible for a portfolio of corporate clients.

As an intermediary between the business (and its clients) this role offers the opportunity to meet (virtually / face to face) a number of different people and providers; explore different business/client needs and support consultants in the delivery of first-class delivery for clients. With that in mind, a successful candidate will have good communication skills (written, visual, presentational and personal) as well as a proactive approach, with the ability to take the initiative and quickly learn and adapt to changing challenges and opportunities from client to client.

Role responsibilities

  • Providing admin support to senior consultants (delivery of meeting notes, action plans, coordinating meetings and service delivery)
  • Drafting of reports/presentations for new and existing clients
  • Maintenance and updating of key client documentation
  • Support consultants with data analysis for clients using tools such as Excel and Tableau
  • Involvement with the team, as directed by the Head of Benefits Consulting, in development and roll-out of new services
  • Responsibility, with oversight from Consulting Leads or Senior Consultants, of delivery to clients of our streamlined benefits service
  • Dealing with providers and building relationships with them
  • Providing support to the Client Delivery team for online benefits, as and when required
  • Completion of accurate time records each day
  • Delivering agreed services in accordance with agreed time schedules and budget with each allocated client
  • Maintaining records in accordance with internal guidelines and procedures
  • Maintaining high professional standards
  • Any other reasonable task as advised from time-to-time; and
  • Support, implement and maintain Information Security procedures and activities in accordance with Barnett Waddingham's Information Security Policy.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience within a corporate environment and although not essential, some previous employee benefits or financial services industry experience would be preferred.

This is a role that will allow you to gain experience within the employee benefits market and then look to progress further into a client-facing consultancy role. You must be motivated and able to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team within a collaborative environment. Strong interpersonal and communications skills are key for this role. Organizational and time management skills are essential.
