Job Title: Content Producer - Welsh
Salary: GBP37,569 to GBP45,189 plus an allowance of GBP1,639. You will receive GBP37,569 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of GBP45,189 will be via incremental progression

Help Welsh speakers to access the first digital police station
To give the UK nationally consistent, locally branded services, we're innovating online. The Single Online Home (SOH) is a digital police station and one of the biggest changes to policing in recent times. As a Content Producer, you'll be part of the future of policing, making sure that users get accurate, professional content in flawless Welsh. With your help, we can make the online experience as helpful, personal and reassuring as approaching an officer on the street.
Working for the Head of Content, you'll help stakeholders to make day to day amends to websites on the SOH platform, while translating from English to Welsh. Keeping users at the heart of decisions, you'll see that the right content is in the right place, in the best format, while following strategies and style guidelines. You'll also carry out legal fact checking, uphold high standards and ensure appropriate policy is applied.
We're looking for a fluent Welsh speaker (ideally degree-qualified), with Welsh language ability at Level 5 or above. You'll have an excellent grasp of Welsh language and grammar, as well as experience in a similar role. With this background, you'll be familiar with content publishing systems (ideally Episerver) and technically capable. SEO, digital asset management, Google Analytics and user-centered service design should all be second nature.

Good knowledge of digital channels and formats - know how to use each to the best effect and able to choose the best format for the audience
Strong editorial judgement ; know how to tell a story and carry a narrative through content
Have used Google Analytics, Google Tags or similar analytics packages
Knowledge of accessibility best practice
Good understanding of search engine optimization
Up to speed on emerging digital trends and culture
Skills
Strong time management skills and ability to juggle multiple content requests to meet short deadlines
Able to take complex language and processes and make them simple to understand
Be able to explain your decisions clearly
Adept to providing simple, clear content to communicate complex issues
Confident communicator: able to persuade; negotiate ; influence ; networking and work with stakeholders
Up to date with the latest content trends, ensuring that our solutions respond accordingly
Requirements
Must have 5 years experience in a similar role / digital team
Must have technical talents - from knowledge if SEO , digital asset management ,Google Analytics and user centred service design
Must have experience with a content publishing system (ideally Episerver)
Must have experience of working in an agile environment
Have a proven track record developing content to meet user needs for digital services
Experience working collaboratively in fast-paced agile teams
Strong original writing for different topics, audience groups, purposed, styles and formats
Extensive experience of writing for the web; able to write micro copy for user interfaces as well as able to produce long form copy if required (and understand where each might be used to best effect)
Must be fluent in Welsh and have Welsh language ability at Level 5 (test in recruitment process up to level 5 standard) .Together with a high level of understanding of Welsh language and grammar.
Must possess a certificate in translation or equivalent qualification or be prepared to achieve within 12 months
Must be educated to degree level in Welsh (language/literature) or have equivalent qualification together with a high level of understanding of Welsh language and grammar.
Must have considerable previous experience of working in a formal / dedicated translation role
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills both in the medium of Welsh and English
Should be a member of a recognized Translator Guild.
